Chattanooga FC Hosts Detroit FC Tonight At FInley

Chattanooga FC is set to host Detroit FC Saturday night at Finley Stadium.  The game will serve as a final warm up before the NPSL season kicks off in May.  Both organizations are home to very large and vocal supporters groups, known as the Chattahooligans and the Northern Guard respectively, and expect to draw large crowds from their respective cities.

“This is a match up that we’ve all been waiting for.” said Sean McDaniel, GM of Chattanooga FC. “By showcasing the two premier amateur clubs in America we are demonstrating to soccer fans across the country that grass roots soccer teams and passionate, loyal fans are here to stay.”

Tickets are included as part of all season pass packages. Individual tickets are $10 in advance at chattanoogafc.com and $12 the day of the match.

The teams will play again next week in Detroit on Saturday, April 28th, 7:30, at Keyworth Stadium. Tickets range from $10-20 and are available at detcityfc.com.

“This is something we’ve wanted to give our fans for quite some time,” said Detroit City FC co-owner Sean Mann. “Not only will it be a match-up of two organizations that have redefined what an American soccer club can be, but it will also be a chance for some of the best soccer fans in the country to come together in the stands.”

Both clubs deserve credit for growing the beautiful game at a grass roots level. Matches like these will be sure to draw eyes from all over the country and all levels of the sport.

“We expect these matches will generate considerable buzz, both clubs are telling exciting stories in the soccer landscape” said Joe Barone, NPSL Chairman. “We are proud to showcase this event to all the supporters of the NPSL and bring further awareness to teams in our league.”

Gates open to Season Pass holders 90 minutes before kickoff, gates open to general public 60 minutes before kickoff. All seating is first-come, first-served.

Lookouts Hold On To Win An Ugly Slugfest Saturday Defeating Biscuits, 11-10

Pedestrian Struck And Killed On Hixson Pike Saturday Night

A pedestrian was struck and killed on Saturday night on Hixson Pike. Chattanooga Police Department responded at 10:05 p.m. to a pedestrian struck at 5400 Hixson Pike.   A Ford F150 driven by Francis Lamonica, 66, was traveling north in the fast lane. Aaron Biddle, 21, was shot and killed on Saturday afternoon. Jadarius Knox, 23, has been arrested, and charged with criminal homicide.
