Soddy-Daisy Lacrosse Wins 12-3 Over Murfreesboro

In an early-season matchup of high school lacrosse unbeatens, Soddy Daisy cruised past Murfreesboro 12-3 in a TSLA Club Division 2 game Saturday.

Laxpower.com ranked both teams as 1-2 heading into the game.

Blake Morrow scored 4 goals and goalie Justin Kaulfuss collected 8 saves for the Trojans, who improved to 4-0, the best start in program history. Nate Schofield, Parker Gaffari, Chance Humphries, Isaac Nelson, John Tefteller, Jack Durain, Hunter Dinger, and Noah Flinn all scored goals in the victory. Murfreesboro Mayhem dropped to 4-1.



After 2 1/2 Hour Rain Delay, Shuckers Slam Door On Lookouts, 7-2

Friday’s game started with a 2 hour and 30 minute rain delay, quite a wait for the 4,009 in attendance at AT&T field, as the visiting Biloxi Shuckers dropped the Chattanooga Lookouts, 7-2. The 27th annual Kay McDaniel Summer Tennis Clinic, held at Lee University, concluded with nearly 400 participants. Children ages 6-13 came from 25 cities to learn from director Kay McDaniel and 43 other instructors. Strong Winds Wreak Havoc In Chattanooga; Thousands Lose Power

A storm with wind gusts up to 70 mph did considerable damage in downtown Chattanooga around 2 p.m. on Saturday. Fencing along Miller Park was twisted onto a nearby lane of traffic on Market Street. 2 Shot In Separate Incidents Early Saturday Morning; 1 Victim Is A Juvenile Girl

Two people were shot early Saturday morning in separate incidents.
