Chattanooga's Gun Problem

Saturday, February 24, 2018

In the last two months we have seen a number of murders and shootings in the Chattanooga area and for the most part all of the perpetrators have a background, have been arrested and as crazy as it is, for gun related charges.

My question for the powers that be is - what are you going to do about this problem?

Chattanooga, at least downtown, is a tourist hot spot, tourism is a major funder of this city, so how do we not know what's going on and why are these people allowed to have access to guns when they are all felons?

I learned the other day that as long as a gun is registered to the owner of a vehicle and someone other than the owner of the vehicle is driving, the gun is fine.  How many times do criminals commit crimes with guns that are registered to themselves? Zero to none.  We need something to be done about this problem, if it's a girlfriend of a gang banger, lock her up also.  If these people are dealt with harshly enough then something will have to come of it.

Jails are overcrowded because every weekend we have people taking up beds that are homeless and drunk. Every weekend. Come on now, if this is your beat then I promise you there are people out drinking and driving or getting ready to rob something.

In these troubled times of nihilistic and ravenous political discourse it simply ... (click for more)

It has come to the attention of the parents and grandparents that there is an approved budget of $250,000 for new tennis courts at the Lookout Valley High and Middle School.
