Historic Rugby is expanding its series of artists and writers forums with a special double event on July 22.  Photographer Jeff Graham will host a discussion on his nature photography at the Harrow Road Café at 4 p.m.

Based in Nashville, much of Mr. Graham’s photography consists of landscapes, nature, wildlife, Americana, and fine art. He says he’s always trying to see things from a slightly different perspective.

“I will often challenge myself to use mundane elements of rural country life to create something special. Tennessee is a beautiful place that offers so many opportunities for me to be creative.

Mr. Graham will show his work and gather ideas from those in attendance about creating a series of seasonal photography workshops in History Rugby.  See more at www.jeffgrahamphotography.com

After some time for attendees to enjoy dinner, Lisa Kaye Presley will step up at 7 p.m. She is the author of the recently-published novel, THE WAIT. Ms. Presley has had the fortune to work with some of Nashville’s most prominent families and has had the opportunity to learn from folks who watched the city grow to become one of the most popular cities in the world. She quickly found that Nashvillians love to share memories of their beloved city.

She has been published in The Tennessean and Banner newspapers, has published a children’s book titled The Orphans, and had great success with a short story titled “The Judgment,” which will soon be a full-length novel.

Recently, she was asked to write a guest blog for Writer’s Digest titled “Don’t Give Up On Your Writing Dream: 5 Tips When Self-Publishing Your Book.”

The Logic of Hysteria: A Hometown Look from A Thousand Miles Away

There was a shooting recently in my hometown, in the parking lot of the mall. It made the national news and I was reading the user comments on the story. Someone was giving their experience about how they heard some rounds fired near the Sears. The next comment was, “They still have a Sears?”   So what the heck happened? The police say there was never an active shooter, ... (click for more)

Roy Exum: Why CNN Is Gonna Croak

I believe CNN (Cable News Network) has become one of the most disappointing news sources America has ever known in the last five years. The bastions of sound journalism no longer exist as the once-great organization has gone the way of liberal loathing. Its new basis-of-fact cannot be trusted and the overwhelming bias against conservatives in our nation is as morbid as it is frightening. ... (click for more)
