Crye-Leike Broker Susan Barnette Becomes Sterling R Investor

Broker and Career Development Director Susan Barnette, of Crye-Leike Real Estate Services Chattanooga- East Brainerd, is now a Sterling R investor in the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC).

RPAC is a national bipartisan grassroots-based political advocacy organization. As a Sterling R investor, Ms. Barnette will work with RPAC to help protect the real-estate industry and the dream of homeownership for the greater Chattanooga and Cleveland residents, and across the country.

Ms. Barnette has been a long time supporter of the organization prior to becoming an investor. “I support RPAC because it is important for me to assist in protecting personal property rights of my customers and clients,” she said.

Since 1996, Ms. Barnette has been a member of the National Association of REALTORS® and holds several designations to include, Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI), Accredited Buyer Representation (ABR), Instructor Training Institute (ITI), and Performance Management Network (PMN). Additionally, Barnette is a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and a Senior Residential Specialist (SRS).

A seasoned professional in the real estate industry, Ms. Barnette is also a member of the National Association of REALTORS® Professional Development Committee and the TN REALTORS® Residential Forms Committee along with being a Trustee on the TN Real Estate Education Foundation. She is an active volunteer with the Women’s Council of REALTORS®, having served a two-year term as the local network president; Ms. Barnette will take over as the Tennessee president of the (WCR) in 2018.

Ms. Barnette’s experience working as a Crye-Leike Broker and vast real estate knowledge will be an asset in helping RPAC to continue their work towards preserving the Mortgage Interest Deduction and preventing the use of guarantee fees charged on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac-backed loans to fund non-housing programs.

Young Gets 23 Years In North Chattanooga Murder

Abram "AB" Young pleaded guilty on Tuesday morning to a murder in North Chattanooga and was sentenced to 23 years in prison. Young was 17 at the time of the 2015 slaying of 19-year-old Charles Holsey during a drug deal behind the Kangaroo on Dallas Road. He is now 20.
